Travel to Gniezno

Gniezno is located 50 km north-east from Poznań.

BY TRAIN

Trains run frequently from Poznan to Gniezno railway station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

BY CAR

Travel from Poznań to Gniezno by car

Take road A2/S5, direction: Warszawa/Bydgoszcz and change to S5/E261 at Poznań-Wschód, continue for about 15-20 min. (34 km). Follow DK5/E261 signs direction: Bydgoszcz/DK15/Gniezno and Take exit Gniezno Południe.

Travel from Warsaw to Gniezno by car

Take road DK7, change to E30/E77/E67/S8, direction: A2/Poznań/Gdańsk/Białystok/S7 and then take road E67/E77/S2/S8, continue S2 and than A2 (246km). Coming to Września follow DK92 signs, direction: Września/DK15/Gniezno/Jarocin/Poznań and then take road DK15 to Gniezno (31,6 km).

Travel to Poznań

Poznan is located halfway between Berlin and Warsaw and can be reached by train from either city or by plane from Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Stansted, London Luton, Munich or Warsaw and several other European airports.

BY AIR

The following carriers have direct connections to Poznan Lawica airport: LOT, SAS, Lufthansa, Ryanair and Wizzair [for more information please see: timetable]. There is a bus connection between Poznan Lawica airport to Poznan railway station (line 59) and there is also a taxi stand in front of the arrival hall.

BY TRAIN

From Warsaw

From Warsaw Airport take a taxi or a train to Warsaw Central Railway Station ("Warszawa Centralna"). It is safe to take a taxi from the line outside the airport terminal. Reject any offer of a taxi from individuals approaching you when leaving the terminal. Trains to Poznan leave the Warsaw Central Station approximately every hour during the day. The ride Warsaw-Poznan takes less than 3 hours by express trains. For TLK, IC (Intercity), EC (Eurocity) and EX (Express) trains a seat reservation is required. Train connections

From Berlin

There are two airports (Tegel and Schönefeld) in Berlin and you can catch all direct trains to Poznan at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) or Berlin Ostbahnhof.

From Tegel Airport:
take bus TXL (destination Mollstr./Prenzlauer Allee) to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (7th stop). The bus ride takes about 37 minutes, but this may vary depending on the traffic. The bus departs every 6 minutes.

From Schönefeld Airport:
take S-Bahn S9 and change to S7 at Ostkreuz to Hauptbahnhor or Ostbahnhof. Alternatively, you may take a local train to Berlin-Ostbahnhof and from there to Poznan. It is easiest to check the timetable for trains at Deutsche Bahn [https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml] and buy one ticket (at Schönefeld) for the whole ride. Allow 1 hour for the journey from the airport to Hauptbahnhof/Ostbahnhof (this does not include any time buffer for luggage retrieval or late arrivals).

For a bus ride from Tegel Airport buy a ticket "Berlin AB" (2,80 EUR) and for the S-Bahn ride from Schönefeld Airport buy a ticket "Berlin ABC" (3,40 EUR).

Trains from Gesundbrunnen
To get to Gesundbrunnen, consider the following connections:

From Airport Tegel to Gesundbrunnen: Take the bus TXL to Beusselstraße and then take the S-Bahn S41 to Gesundbrunnen. This takes about 30 min.

From Airport Schönefeld: Take the S-Bahn S9 to Treptower Park and change to the S-Bahn S42 which takes you to Gesundbrunnen. This takes about 55 min.

From Berlin Hauptbahnhof: Take either RE3 or RE5. This is just one stop and should take around 10 min.

International trains from Berlin need approximately 2,5 hours to get to Poznan.
