BY TRAIN

From Warsaw

From Warsaw Airport take taxi or train to Warsaw Central Railway Station ("Warszawa Centralna"). It is safe to take a "Radio Taxi" from the line outside the airport terminal. There is a dispatcher who will call one for you. Reject any offer of taxi from individuals approaching you when leaving the terminal. Trains to Poznan leave the Warsaw Central Station approximately every hour during the day. The ride Warsaw-Poznan takes about 3 hours by express train. For TLK, IC (Intercity), EC (Eurocity) and EX (Express) trains a seat reservation is required. You may buy the ticket at the station. For timetable and more information see: PKP SA and Intercity.

From Berlin

There are two airports (Tegel and Schönefeld) in Berlin and you can catch all direct trains to Poznan at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) or Berlin Ostbahnhof.

From Tegel-airport:
take bus TXL (destination Mollstr./Prenzlauer Allee) to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (7th stop). The bus ride takes about 17 minutes, but this may vary depending on the traffic.

From Schönefeld-airport:
take S-Bahn S9 directly to Ostbahnhof. Alternatively, you may take a local train to Berlin-Ostbahnhof, and from there to Poznan. It is easiest to check the timetable for trains at Deutsche Bahn and buy one ticket (at Schönefeld) for the whole ride.

Allow 1h for journey from airport to Hauptbahnhof/Ostbahnhof (this does not include any time buffer for luggage retrieval or late arrivals). For the whole ride in bus and S-Bahn from Tegel - airport buy a single journey ticket "Berlin AB", which costs 2,40 EUR and for the ride in S-Bahn from Schönefeld - airport buy a single journey ticket "Berlin ABC", which costs 3,10 EUR.

International trains need approximately 2,5 hours to get to Poznan from Berlin.
