Title: Regularity Criteria for Inviscid Fluid Dynamics Revisited: A Case Study on an Infinite Domain
Abstract: We consider the BMO-extended version of the Beale-Kato-Majda criterion for the 3D Euler equations, in an attempt to understand it intuitively by giving an alternative explanation. As an example, we mainly treat the Constantin-Lax-Majda model for the vorticity equation and identify a simple mechanism underlying such an estimate. Higher dimensional cases are also addressed briefly.
