Title: Numerical Approximation of Incompressible Fluids
Abstract: The Stokes and Navier Stokes equations are prototypical of a broad range of partial differential equations (pde's) whose solutions exhibit a richness of structure that is challenging characterize analytically and to capture numerically. This talk will review the construction and analysis of numerical schemes to approximate this class of problem and some of the open problems that arise.
