The Western Pennsylvania ARML Team
Western PA ARML is a program for high school students interested in mathematics and in math competitions. At weekly practices, students learn math that isn't normally part of the high school curriculum, focusing on problem-solving techniques. At the end of the year, we travel to the ARML competition at Penn State University.
Practices are each Sunday during the school year from 4-6:30 pm. Typically, we spend the first half of practice working on a problem set for a particular topic and the second half discussing solutions to the problems. In the middle, we break for food (usually pizza) and food for thought (a puzzle of sorts).
