  • Wednesday: ection 5.1, pp. 368-373. Section 5.2, pp. 379-382. (Also see posted notes on Subspaces, Bases, and Dimension, Section 7.6 (or 8.1) Orthogonal Vectors and Subspaces.)
  • Friday: Section 1.2 pp. 27-28 and Section 5.2, pp. 382-384. (Also see posted notes on Orthogonality and Projections, Section 8.2 Orthogonal Projections.)

    1. Show that if the mxn matrix B is obtained from the mxn matrix A by adding a multiple of one of A to another row of A, then row(A)=row(B).
    2. Section 3.1 #30.
    3. Section 3.5 #60.
    4. Section 6.2 #30.

Homework assignments may be turned in before or after class on the due day, or may be placed in your TA's mailbox before 3:20pm on that day. The TA's mailboxes are in the Math Department office, WEH 6113.
