"Analysis and finite element approximation of parabolic saddle point problems"

Abstract

Motivated by the saddle point theory for elliptic partial differential equations, we present a suitable weak formulation for the evolutionary Navier-Stokes equations with nonhomogeneous boundary data. Some results concerning the existence and uniqueness of weak solution are presented and semidiscrete finite element error estimates are derived. Moreover, we discuss the analysis and finite element approximation of a related boundary optimal control problem for Navier-Stokes equations.
