Samuel Cohn Carnegie Melllon University Title: Stochastic homogenization of linear elliptic equations in divergence form - Part 1 Abstract: In this talk we discuss the stochastic homogenization of linear elliptic equations in divergence form. After explaining what we mean by a solution to a PDE with random coefficients, we show that, under the assumptions of stationarity and ergodicity, the solutions converge almost surely to the solution of a deterministic homogenized problem.
